On 25th and March 26th, 2012, Representative of IETO Taipei, Mr. Harmen Sembiring, met with Indonesian Ship Crews / fishermen who are in Taiwan-Penghu area. During this visit the Rerpesentative of IETO visited the ships where the crew work and had aconversed with them. The complaints from the fishermen are the cuts in food allowances in excess of NT$ 2,500, - and in general the fishermen in the Penghu region does not have an Health Insurance, Labor Insurance, and ARC card. They pleaded to IETO Taipei to help them solve these problems. They also complained about the service from the agency that was not optimal and is still often sided with the employer and not building a harmonious relationship between employer and ship crews. On this occasion the Representative of IETO asked ship crews / fishermen to submit a list of their agents who charge more than their provision and also asked for those who do not have Health Insurance, Labor Insurance, and ARC card.
